Waving Hello

I haven’t disappeared from the blog world (and dare I say I never will—I miss you all too much when I’m gone.)  I’ve been dealing with some pressing problems here at home.  The home renovations ended just before Christmas, but my son and I haven’t been well since then. We’re thinking that some of the drywall dust settled in our furnace and has been burning and recirculating throughout the house. That’s the short version of the story—It’s all more complicated than that, but we think we’ve isolated the final problem and should have it taken care of soon.  The sinus headaches and ear ringing have knocked us back, and the last few months have been kind of a blur. (If any of you have had similar problems following remodeling, I’d like to hear from you. Did you need to have your ducts cleaned?)

I like the way the living room and kitchen look now, so I’m glad we had the work done (or at least I will be when I’m feeling better!) and I am grateful that the stove and refrigerator are no longer in the living room! (Although the fridge was kind of convenient in there…)

We learned this month that our  Lucy, (our almost 18 year old Siamese cat and queen of our house) is in severe kidney failure. The good news is, she’s getting fluids every week at the vet, and most importantly, she is happy, getting lots of lap time and snuggling. She still has energy to bat a marble around a box lid.   So, while we may not have her for too much longer, we’re happy for the sweet moments with her. She’s skinnier now, but still beautiful.

There is so much to be grateful for, even amid the troubles of life. I’m glad you are here visiting!

Have a great weekend~
