As the New Year Begins
I can’t believe the Christmas season is coming to a close. As always, it hurried by much too fast, but we enjoyed the time together as a family. Our Christmas Eve celebration was slightly different this year because my sister and her family moved to Florida a few months ago. This meant a change of location for the party, since my sister was usually the Christmas Eve hostess in the past. So our little house welcomed family on Christmas Eve. While our house wasn’t built for entertaining crowds, it is cozy and welcoming, and we had a wonderful time.
Aren’t these flowers pretty? I love the Christmas touches of evergreen sprigs and a pine cone (which are hiding in this photo.)
My daughter made me this beautiful bracelet. I love her bead choices and the patterns she creates. She loves to make jewelry. Isn’t it nice? Such a nice presentation too.
With her mom’s help, my four year old great niece made her gifts this year. She created the gingerbread man ornament in the photo, some wonderful bath scrub, and some edible gingerbread men. (She also made sure to tell us not to eat the ornament, because “it has glue!” So precious, and such precious gifts. She’s learning good things from her sweet mom and dad. They do a good job of teaching her that Jesus is the reason we celebrate, not the gifts.)
Here’s another cute niece with her mom. (I have the most adorable nieces and nephews.)
So, as the Christmas season comes to an end and a new year begins, I hope you are finding time to rest and share with family and that your new year will be a blessed one.
Happy New Year!
Sounds like a beautiful celebration! The bracelet is beautiful-love the handmade gifts!
