Supplies for Stationery Nerds and Journal Lovers (at a Scrapbook Site)

I’m a stationery nerd, a lover of journaling of all kinds, a pen fanatic, a lover of calligraphy and lettering, real mail, washi tape, stickers, etc.  I know that many of you are, too. If you are into journals, planners, pens, lettering,  etc., read on. You’ll discover a great resource for stationery supplies for stationery nerds, like me. If you need some scrapbook journaling supplies, you are in the right place.

While I get my supplies for all of these passions from many different sources, one surprising resource is scrapbook.com.  Surprising, because I haven’t been doing as much traditional scrapbooking as I used to, and I didn’t realize for some time how many products for journaling were available there. My scrapbooking supplies have always done double duty for my journaling and other papercrafts, of course.

I thought some of my kindred spirits would enjoy knowing about it!  After all, every journal or happy mail person should know about stationery supplies for stationery nerds.

This isn’t my own photo. It’s by Estee Janssens from Unsplash, but it includes some of the artistic aspects of journaling that I enjoy (lettering, stamping, watercolor, stickers.)  Of course, the actual journaling is most important, though!

I’ve always liked the creative aspect of displaying photos in special books, with journaling and hand lettering. My kids always loved to look at our pictures in those kind of photo books the best (and still do.)

As the years went on, I didn’t make as much time for extensive scrapbooking anymore.  I do something a bit similar in  my journals, using tiny phone photos I print with  my Canon Ivy (mobile mini photo printer), but I do hope to make time for some simple scrapbooks, too.  Now that my craft area is almost to a point that I can call it organized, I’m excited to actually get my crafting mojo back.

Here are some of my favorite categories at scrapbook.com and how I use the products for lots of things besides (and including!) scrapbooking:

Washi Tape   It’s great to use as dividers on journal pages, for decorating envelopes, for decorating journal pages, etc.

Brush Markers  There are several brands of brush markers at scrapbook.com, including 2 of my favorites, Tombow and Faber Castell. Large markers are great for making headers and titles, highlighting, and watercoloring.  Small markers are great for smaller headings, quotes, and more.

Stencils Stencils are such a fun way to decorate journal pages.  They’re fast and fun. They’re not just for those who don’t like to draw, either. They’re a great addition to your creative stash. Use them to decorate your journals and envelopes and for backgrounds.

Journals   I like that scrapbook.com has many styles of journals and notebooks.  I have several different types that I use for different kinds of journaling.

Planners  In addition to several kinds of planners, there are date stamps, rubber stamps, stickers, etc., geared toward planners.  I tend to just use a binder as my planner, but the planner supplies are fun, especially if you decorate your planner.

Traveler’s Notebooks  The traveler’s notebooks at the site are varied and pretty.

Paper  There is a lot of paper at the site for scrapbooking (of course), that works equally well for decorating journals, making envelopes, making notebooks and notebook inserts, etc.  They have anything from natural, organic designs to whimsical, bright designs, seasonal patterns, etc.  I like to tear the paper to use in my journals, and I like to make envelopes and mini-books with the paper too.

Recently, I’ve  switched from buying paper pads to buying individual sheets. This is one of my favorites.    While I don’t get as much paper for the money as buying pads, there is much less paper to store and/or go unused. If you tend to use most of the pages in the pads, though, pads are a better value.

There are also some free classes at the site, including a brush lettering class from Kelly, of Kelly Creates, so it’s definitely worth a visit, whether you buy anything or not.

I hope you’ve enjoyed this great resource for stationery supplies for stationery nerds.

  1. I used to write in a journal everyday, but I never got creative with it. I love the idea of mixing in different scrapbooking elements. One of these days I will pull all of my papers and embellishments out, and get back into card making. This makes me miss it. Hehe.

    1. I used to make cards a lot too! Yes, all of these goodies are great for that. I used to make more time for all of this fun, so I'm trying to make more time for it now.

  2. Oh my goodness, I am so excited I found your blog through Thursday Favorite Things linkup… I signed up for three free courses on scrapbook.com! Two watercolor basic courses and a brush lettering. I have taken classes on both in the past (in-person, not virtual) but would love to brush up (pun intended) my skills! Thanks for sharing all of these resources and products!

  3. Well, I must confess that I am a stationery nerd as well. I know that I don't need anymore, but somehow it seems to find me. I use to scrapbook, but with everything digital now, my kids have kind of taken over! I do enjoy getting my scrapbooks out and looking at them every now and then, and I have found that my grandkids love to look at them with me.

  4. I'm not into lettering, but I would like one of those lettering sets just for writing out addresses on envelopes or gift cards! I always feel like a regular ink pen is so boring! Thanks for sharing!
