Galen Leather Notebook Cover Review

If you’ve been a visitor here for any time at all, I’m sure you’ve noticed that I’m a little bit of a notebook/journal/pen fanatic. I know there are a lot of us out there. There’s no rhyme or reason to it, really, is there?

Whether it’s bullet journaling, creative journaling (my favorite), or just note taking, a beautiful notebook and cover just makes the experience better.

I had recently been shopping for an A6 notebook cover, so I was thrilled when Galen Leather reached out to me to offer one of their products in exchange for my honest review. They are a family company, based in Istanbul, Turkey, known for their handcrafted, thoughtfully designed leather goods.

I had seen some of their products at the St. Louis Pen Show, so I couldn’t wait to see the notebook cover I had chosen. You can guess which size I chose.

Yunus, from Galen Leather, sent me this A6 Rhodia notebook cover (which fits any notebook up to an A6 size, according to their description. This makes me happy because I have an A6 Cafe Note book, and it fits perfectly, as I’m sure an A6 Stalogy or A6 Hobonichi would, as well.)

I chose purple, and it’s a stunning purple. It comes in several other colors, so it was really difficult to choose. I often choose a warm, brown or cognac color for leather goods, but this purple just shouted out to me to change things up a little. It’s such a beautiful purple, and the leather is smooth, with hand stitching that exudes craftsmanship.

The presentation upon arrival was really nice. Even the box is very cool. It’s sturdy and strong, and I’ll use it for some kind of storage at my desk. I appreciated the teas and other extras, too!

The A6 notebook cover and notebook are the perfect size for me. I have mostly used A5 notebooks in the past and still do, but I am loving this A6 size, too. It’s the perfect size to carry along with me. (Galen Leather has a lot of sizes of notebook covers, so if you use a different size, you’ll be happy with all of the choices of sizes, colors, and styles.)

There is a wide, black elastic band to keep everything all together. It’s firmly attached. I can’t say enough positive things about the quality of this notebook cover.

I’m genuinely thrilled to have discovered Galen Leather Co. They have so many beautiful products, from gorgeous leather pen cases to leather tote bags to wood washi tape dispensers, and more. In my world, it doesn’t get much better than that!
