On many 4th of July afternoons, when I was growing up, our family would get together with some friends, and the ice cream maker would come out. We kids would take turns cranking it (each one of us excitedly awaiting our turn!) Home made ice cream is much easier these days, with an electric no churn ice cream maker like this one.
