My Amazon Fun and Favorite Orders

I always like a good recommendation, especially from like-minded people. I keep a tight budget, so I like to see products that others have loved.  Plus, I like getting a little glimpse into the person that bought the product.  Do you feel like that?  I hope so, because I want to share some of my recent Amazon picks with you.

Here we go!  These have all been purchases I love.

Faith & Lettering: An Inspirational Guide to Creative Lettering & Journaling

I have several books on lettering, but I picked this one up for several reasons. It has several styles of lettering, I like the faith applications, and  I like that it shows you how to draw different embellishments to use with your lettering (banners, wreaths, frames, florals, etc.)  Plus layout techniques and lettering with a purpose. It packs a lot into one volume.

Rhodia Black Dot Pad 8.25 x 11.75

I am always in need of smooth paper to practice my brush lettering. I often use the HP Premium 32 paper, because it is very smooth and doesn’t harm my brush marker tips, but I also wanted a pad, and I wanted a dot grid too, for structure (straight lines!)  I love this Rhodia pad, not only for practice, but I plan to take some pages out, cut them in half, and use them in my journals. It is one of the most recommended pads for brush lettering.  There is another version that’s spiral bound.

Whiskey in a Teacup, by Reese Witherspoon.

My husband knows how much I love Reese Witherspoon, so for Christmas, he got me her new  book, Whiskey in a Teacup.  (The title comes from a saying about women.  They may be delicate and ornamental on the outside, but strong and fiery on the inside.)  Reese shares some of her stories about southern living,  along with recipes, entertaining tips, and lots of fun.  I love it!  This link is to the unsigned one, but if you want to spend a little extra for the signed one, (as my husband did!), those are available too!

Triple Zip Pocket Crossbody Bag

I had been looking for a simple purse that’s not too big and not too small, in a pretty neutral color that goes with everything.  I finally found it!  I love this crossbody bag. (The strap is adjustable, and I actually use it as a shoulder bag.) It’s very nice quality at a very  low price.  I got it in the stone color because I wanted a color that would go with both brown and black, but it comes in many colors. Now, mind you, this won’t hold a laptop, but it’s a nice, practical size. Several zippered pockets too.  I’m always a little hesitant about buying a bag online, without touching and holding it, but I was so happy with this one. I would love to have the red too…

Longwin Crystal Dome Paperweight Reading Magnifying Glass

Yes, sometimes, even with my reading glasses, I need a little extra help to read tiny print!  This beautiful dome makes me feel happy and magnifies beautifully.  It is a lovely paperweight  when not in use.  I got the 3.1 inch one, but they have other sizes too.  I love mine.

Burt’s Bees Multipurpose Wipes for Dogs

Before I got these, I admit, I was skeptical.  I needed something to freshen up our Sunny, between baths, and I wasn’t sure how well wipes would work. Turns out, they work great!  They remove dirt and odors and are made with high quality ingredients. I like having these on hand all the time.

Australian Gold Botanical Sunscreen Tinted Face Mineral Lotion SPF 50

I love this sunscreen so much.  It has a very subtle tint that, for me, looks more natural than other tinted sunscreens I’ve used.  Perfect for light to medium complexions.  Honestly, over moisturizer and with a little powder it’s perfect for everyday, and I never wear foundation anymore. (Well, I wore foundation at my daughter’s wedding…)  Great protection and not expensive.

That was fun!  Thanks for being here!

  1. Oh, what fun! I love my strange Amazon orders. Love the dog wipes. We need them badly with two dogs and a lot of mud. And I love a good Crossbody Bag. I'll have to see if it's in red. I need purses with zippers. Never snaps.
And I love Reese Witherspoon so I bet I would love her book.

    1. Yes, zippers only for my purses! The Reese Witherspoon book is adorable. My husband really loves autographs, so he wanted me to have a signed copy. It made me happy!

  2. A nice collection of favorites with a variety of interests. My favorite would be the first one about lettering and drawing – sounds wonderful! I'm also a fan of Reese and have to read her book.

  3. I loved reading Whiskey in a Teacup and I tried a few recipes from the book. I've got to invest in those dog wipes!

  4. I was at Hobby Lobby the other day and saw the lettering book along with all the special pens and was tempted to buy it for my Bible Journaling. It wasn't on sale though, and I was already using my coupon for another item, so I will have to wait. I'd like to get better at lettering for bible journaling purposes.
