Autumn on a Tray
Although I’m not talented at home decor, I love the idea of creating pretty tray vignettes that represent a season. I’ve done a few decor tours in the past, via Katherine’s Corner, and had planned to participate in her current one. Due to a glitch of my own, though (senior moment?, too many things going on moment?, computer glitch moment?), my email to Katherine failed to send, remained in my drafts folder, and I realized it too late. (Update: I was able to squeak in, after all. Thank you so much for adding me to the linky, Katherine, so that I can be a part of the tour! You are a sweetheart.)
So, I’m sharing my autumn tray with you today, and I hope you’ll stop by the talented bloggers who are participating in Katherine’s tray tour, too.
The tray I used is just a simple white wooden one that I’ve been meaning to upcycle for a long time. All of the items on the tray are things from around my house and my fall decor bin.
I love faux pumpkins in unusual colors and textures, and this little green one coordinated well with the “book” box I brought up temporarily from my art/craft room. The small twig pumpkin came from a fall floral display that I already had.
I wanted to add this autumn quote that I had lettered, so I just slipped it into the sides of a frame from my hall tree. (Of course, it would look better if it were matted properly!)
Because I lack confidence in home decor, I think I enjoy taking the photos even more than I enjoy creating the trays! Events like blog tray tours, hosted by other bloggers, though, are motivating, and I do enjoy having something to motivate me to create seasonal decor. So, I hope this inspires you to create your own autumn on a tray.
Don’t forget to stop by some of the bloggers on the autumn tray tour. Happy fall!

One of the last gifts my Aunt gave to me was a water pitcher and basin that she’d done in a ceramics class. It looks strikingly similar to the one you’ve arranged here on your Autumn on A Tray. This is a fabulous idea you’ve given to me, as this would be yet another way of honoring her in yet another season 🙂 Thank you!
Aw, I’m glad the pitcher reminded you of your aunt, Jenny! That makes me happy. 🙂
Great tray and love the addition of the cotton
Thanks so much, Cindy!
