Thursday Favorite Things #613
I’m so glad you’re here for another Thursday Favorite Things (TFT) link party and blog hop. The saying is true, “It wouldn’t be a party without you.” So, thank you!

It’s been an eventful week here, to say the least. I spent Sunday afternoon in the emergency department, due to heat exhaustion. Our a/c went out late Friday, and our house got very, very hot. Although I typically do drink a lot of water, I chose that particular time not to, and I got dehydrated, which caused my blood pressure to spike extremely high and cause a severe migraine. I knew I needed to go to the E.R. when I was too dizzy to walk. Sometimes I forget my age! Mentally, I don’t feel my age! Anyway, this is my PSA for you, reminding you to stay hydrated in the heat. Although it didn’t reach the level of heat stroke, heat exhaustion is still very scary.
Our backyard project is in full swing. The pool is gone, and the deck reduction is almost finished, too. It’s looking great. It’s been amazing to watch the contractors completely restructure our lower deck. When it’s finished, hopefully I’ll get some pictures.
At the blog this week, I shared What is a Commonplace Book? How to Keep One.
I also did a big update on a post I originally published back in 2014, Modern Calligraphy and Copperplate: Pointed Pen Basics.
Here are my features from last week’s party. If you missed that party, you can visit here. Please pin from the original blogs, rather than from the images below. All of my features will be added to my TFT Pinterest board.

Strawberry Cool Whip Ice Cream Sandwiches from Butter with a Slice of Bread

Many thanks for the feature of my post, Chicken & Rice Casserole. I hope you’re having a great day!
You’re very welcome, Carol. It looks so good. Comfort food at its best.
Thanks so much Pam! So sorry about your dehydration experience, I can relate as that happened to me once too~ now I carefully watch my water intake, and always drink 64 oz. every day by 5pm. Even if you think you drink a lot of water sipping all day, 64 oz. is more than you think it is! So glad you’re ok! My links are #26, 27, 28~ take care!
Thanks, Jenna. It’s a scary experience for sure. I had been so proud of myself for drinking so much more water lately, but that day I really failed!
Yikes!! Glad you’re ok! Thanks for hosting, Pam! My links are 37/38 this week. Stay cool, friend!!
Thanks, Julie. I am definitely going to try! (And, if the a/c goes out again, I am definitely going to be drinking buckets of water!)
Glad you’re doing better. Thanks for the PSA. And thanks for hosting today! I’ve linked # 52.
Thanks, Sandra, and thanks for coming to the party!
