Easy Peppermint Mocha

Just a quick post today to share a sweet idea with the coffee lovers. It’s a really easy peppermint mocha recipe. Very simple, but so good. I’m sure many of you have done this already, but if not, prepare to be happy.

I had been stopping (a little too often) by my favorite coffee shop to get a Peppermint Mocha.  Given how quickly that expense adds up, this idea makes so much more sense (or cents…get it?  Sorry, I couldn’t resist…)

This is so ridiculously simple, I don’t know why I wasn’t doing it before now. It’s the laziest, easiest peppermint mocha you can make. (So, it’s not really even a “recipe!”)

  • Just take a cup of your favorite coffee, sweetened to taste, in a fun Christmas mug, of course, and drop in a Hershey’s kiss or two. Pour in some milk (whole milk tastes best in this, but any milk, including non-dairy, will do), then add a few drops of peppermint extract (or crushed candy canes – whichever you happen to have.)
  • Warm in the microwave to melt the chocolate, then stir.  Top with whipped cream.
  • Of course, you don’t have to use Hershey kisses. Any chocolate you have around is fair game – chocolate chips, white or milk or semi-sweet or dark… You can’t go wrong here.

Mmmm, I was so surprised at just how delicious this turned out to be!  So simple, but so good.  (It even makes instant coffee taste good.)

Try it and enjoy!
