Thursday Favorite Things #472: Organizing, Planning, & Getting Motivated

Happy Thursday!  I’m so glad you’re here today for another Thursday Favorite Things (TFT) link party.

How are you all doing?  I’m honestly a little overwhelmed.  Blogging has taken a back seat to blogging preparation, if that makes sense.  I’ve been planning several creative projects that I’ll be sharing with you, and for me, the more ideas I have going on at once, the more overwhelmed I get! The post I had planned for 2 weeks ago still needs its photos.  But, I’m consoling myself with the fact that all of this preparation will make the next few weeks more smooth. 🤞

To regain some sense of order and purpose, I’ve made good progress, lately, in purging a lot of unused or little used art and craft supplies.  January is all about that. I had been hanging on to so many things that I really needed to purge. Some of the products had gone bad or were mostly used up, some were things from projects that I no longer have the motivation to do, and some were victims of my changing tastes.

My organizational tip for the day – Don’t purchase bins, drawers, or other organizational kinds of products until you assess what organizational items you already have or can DIY. (Lesson learned.)

Here are my features from last week’s party:

I pin all of the features to my Thursday Favorite Things Pinterest board.

  5. Pam, I hear you on the blogging preparation part! It takes me so long to edit my photos, organize them and then try to write something that is interesting and meaningful. I've stepped away from linking onto your TFT but hope to get back in a few weeks. You have inspired me to go through my art supplies! Happy Thursday!

  6. Thank you so much for the feature, Pam! I totally get the prepping behind the scenes for the blog! Hope you get lots done! I'm at 121 and 122 this week!

  7. I think the planning will really help – it helped me! A couple years ago, I sat down with a calendar, and started jotting down ideas for each month, and I was the most productive that year. Sadly, I didn't follow suit last year, but I have already started planning for this year.

Kudos on the purging! I keep looking at my supplies, and saying I'm going to use them up this year. It's one of my resolutions for the year, and if the year comes to an end, and I haven't made progress, I think I will just empty them all into a bin, and donate to start next year fresh for sure.

This week, I'm sharing my new earwarmer (#136) and a collection of cozy crochet patterns perfect for this time of year (#140).

  8. Hi Pam! I feel ya! I just checked and I haven't posted anything in almost 2 weeks – eek! lol I have been concentrating on business coaching and creating a new product. But I'm excited to get back to writing! I'm sharing #73 and 75.

  9. Hi Pam, thanks so much for sharing my post on Keeping a Prayer Journal! Love hearing about your purging craft items and art supplies. When we moved 2 years ago I just boxed everything up and now I have no idea where most of it is and it's so frustrating, since I need to now get more organized. I can see a massive amount of time spent at our storage units trying to find all the boxes I need to locate, haha! Glad to know there are others out there like me! Hope you have a great weekend, blessings! Deb
